Tactical Exercises without Troops (TEWTs) conducted by Junior Command and Staff Course (JCSC) 23



Junior Command and Staff Course (JCSC) 23 students conducted various outdoor exercises from 25th of July to 14th of August 2024. These exercises included Defensive Tactical Exercise without Troops (TEWTs) code-named RINDA INKIKO, which took place from 25th to 31st July 2024 in the gen area of MUKAMIRA. Subsequently, JCSC 23 also went on to conduct Offensive Operations TEWTs nicknamed NESHA UMWANZI from 8th to 14th August 2024 in the gen area of KANZENZE. The 2 exercises aimed at practicing students of JCSC 23 on the planning and conduct of both defensive and offensive operations at Bde level of comd.

The Exercises were set at Bde Gp level, where students practiced as Bde Gp Comds & Staff.
The planning & conduct of both exercises were done using the manoeuvrist approach to operations.

The Deputy Commandant & Chief Instructor, Brig Gen Jean Chrysostome NGENDAHIMANA giving teaching points.
Both exercises ended with debrief sessions by DS sponsors, Course Coordinator and Deputy Comdt & CI.
