THE COMMANDER OF THE FRENCH AFRICA COMMAND VISITS RWANDA DEFENCE FORCE COMMAND AND STAFF COLLEGE
On 20 May 2026, the Commander of the French Africa Command, Major General Pascal IANNI visited the Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College (RDF CSC) in Nyakinama, Musanze District and delivered a lecture of opportunity to the RDF Senior Command and Staff Course intake 14 (SCSC 14) on the topic: “Disruption of the Strategic Environment in Africa.”
On his arrival, Maj Gen Pascal IANNI was received by the Commandant of RDF CSC, Brigadier General Andrew NYAMVUMBA, together with the College leadership. He highlighted:” Your presence here is a powerful testament to the growing and dynamic partnership between our nations and our armed forces”. Maj Gen Pascal IANNI was briefed on the college vision and mission which is to develop strategic leaders and critical thinkers for the RDF and valued partner nations. The College educational philosophy rests on three pillars: Rigorous Academic Study, Cultivation of Adaptive Leadership, and Deep Understanding of Contemporary Security Dynamics. The visit was an opportunity for the college to share its transformational path and explore future opportunities for collaboration in military education and training.
During his tour, the Commander of the French Africa Command, Maj Gen Pascal IANNI expressed appreciation for the college’s commitment to academic excellence and its contribution to professional military education and training for peace and security.
