KENYA INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
On 12th December 2025, The Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College (RDFCSC) fraternity celebrated the 62nd Independence Day of the Republic of Kenya. The celebrations were attended by students of SCSC 14, Faculty members, and College Staff.
In Kenya, the flag was hoisted for the first time, marking full independence won from the colonial ruler, the British on 12 December 1963 after a long and fierce struggle. The flag embraced the identity of a free people and recalled the sacrifices that had been made to win freedom. At the same time, the Kenyan national anthem was heard for the first time, praying for peace, unity, justice, and liberty and calling Kenyan citizens to serve and defend the motherland. This year’s celebrations are guided by the theme: “Tourism, Wildlife, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions)”, highlighting Kenya’s rich heritage and its role as a global tourism destination.
The Deputy Commandant & Chief Instructor Brig Gen JC NGENDAHIMANA, the faculty members, and students of SCSC 14 showed their respect and honour for the Kenya national anthem and flag.

This occasion was presided over by the College Deputy Commandant & Chief Instructor Brig Gen JC NGENDAHIMANA. He congratulated Kenyans for their 62nd independence day.

The student who spoke on behalf of the Kenyans fraternity in the college cordially expressed their sincere appreciation to the leadership of Rwanda and RDFCSC for making it possible to celebrate this day in Nyakinama, Musanze.
