Meeting of Commandants of EAC Senior Military Command and Staff Colleges 8-10 September 2014
Commanders of the Senior Command and Staff Colleges from around the region are meeting in Rwanda Defence Forces Command and Staff College to harmonize training management in the regional senior military colleges. The meeting that ran from 8 to 10 September 2014 brought together commandants from the five partner states of the East African Community (EAC). The envisaged harmonization of the curriculum is under the EAC defence cooperation, which derives its mandate from Article 125 of the Treaty establishing the regional bloc.


Other participants in the meeting include Defence Liaison Officers who represent the five partner states at the EAC Secretariat in Arusha Tanzania. The meeting aims to discuss ways of harmonizing the curricula of the regional senior command and staff colleges across the region. Recommendations from the meeting will be submitted to the senior leadership to inform strategic decisions in military training and enhanced defence cooperation.
