Graduation Ceremony of the third intake of Senior Command and Staff Course on 5 June 2015
The Minister of Defence, General James Kabarebe, on behalf of H.E The President of the Republic and Commander-In-Chief of Rwanda Defence Force, presided over the Graduation Ceremony of the third intake of Senior Command and Staff Course at RDF Command and Staff College, in college premises, in Nyakinama-Musanze, on 5 June 2015. The course was composed of 47 Senior Officers, 2 each from Burundi, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda, 37 from RDF, and 2 from Rwanda National Police. They all successfully completed a one-year course and received Passed Staff Course (PSC) Symbol, certificates and awards.



During the ceremony, 7 members of the faculty, 3 from EAC allied countries namely Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, and another 4 from RDF were awarded certificates of appreciation and a ‘daggered psc+’ symbol for consistency and dedication to the college for an uninterrupted period of two years.

In his remarks, Gen James Kabarebe reminded the importance of training in the Military by quoting HE the President of the Republic and Commander-In-Chief of RDF, “Proper training builds on the soldiers ‘mental, moral and physical qualities, and without proper training, even a large and seemingly powerful force may not have good results – proper training is a priority among priorities for any force to be effective and efficient”.

Brig General Charles Karamba, the RDF Command and Staff College Commandant underlined that the students had adhered to College expectations and objectives to the desired end state of producing officers with requisite analytical and communication skills as well as professional military knowledge in command and leadership at operational level.

RDF Command and Staff College was inaugurated three years ago to offer high-level military studies. The College has so far hosted 3 Senior Command and Staff Courses and graduated 138 students including 16 allied students. It has also graduated 2 Junior Command and Staff Courses of 72 Students. The College is accredited to the University of Rwanda and offers a Masters of Arts degree and Postgraduate diploma in Security Studies.
