Graduation Dinner for Senior Command and Staff Course (SCSC 05) on 2nd June 2017

The Rwanda Defense Force Command and Staff College (RDFCSC) organized a graduation dinner for Senior Command and Staff Course 05 students, the college leadership and faculty staff, and their respective spouses on 2 June 2017. It was a special evening and a moment to enjoy for the whole college fraternity, students and staff alike and together with their beloved ones, after a yearlong successful training.

The Commandant, Maj Gen JB Kazura, welcomed the invited guests to the celebration and expressed gratitude to all of them for choosing to join the college faculty and students on that evening. The Guest of Honour for the occasion was the RDF Army Chief of Staff (ACOS), Maj Gen Jacques Musemakweli.

Other distinguished guests to the graduation dinner included Chief Js from RDF HQ, 2 Div Commander, Commandant of National Police College, spouses and family relatives of both students and faculty.

On behalf of the CDS RDF, the Army Chief of Staff, Maj Gen Jacques Musemakweli, took opportunity to extend greetings, well wishes, and congratulations to the SCSC 05 students for ending their military prestigious course on a high note. He commended their effort, resilience, fortitude and achievements while on the course and most of all they discipline.

“This is one of the rare opportunities when we assemble with our spouses to celebrate such a great achievement for not only the soon to graduate student officers but also to the RDF leadership. We are happy to get yet another group of trained commanders and staff officers to employ in various assignments”, the ACOS noted. “In the military, we recognize with appreciation, better than any other organization, the crucial role of our spouses in our daily duties. They are the backbone of the well-functioning of RDF as an institution, our families and our societies in general”, the ACOS observed.

He carried on expressing sincere thanks to students’ spouses for the continued support for their beloved ones in their professional and private lives. He thanked the college leadership and faculty for striving to uplift the college standards in providing quality, a prerequisite for the RDF transformation and professionalization journey. He also thanked the allied Defence Forces for continuing to send their students and trainers to the RDFCSC. “This does not only cement the regional and international defence cooperation but also gives the students an opportunity to share their culture and values and tap into other experiences”, he concluded.

The SCSC 05 students thanked the college fraternity for the knowledge and experience gained through speeches and tokens of appreciation.

The purpose of the dinner was to share with one another the great joy of having concluded yet another intake of SCSC. Everyone was encouraged to join and celebrate the great achievement, but most importantly have fun with colleagues and loved ones.

The dinner was graced by the Army Band and the cultural troupe “Inganzo Ngali” who put up an exciting performance.
