TANZANIA CELEBRATES 60 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE
On the 9 December 2021, the RDFCSC fraternity joined one Directing Staff (DS) and two students from the Tanzania Peoples’ Defence Force (TPDF) to celebrate the Independence of the United Republic of Tanzania. The 3 senior officers (Lt Col Catherine MWAMUNYANGE (DS), Maj Thomas KAYOMBO and Maj Halidi MSUYA) are part of the exchange programme between the two sister Armies.
The Independence Day commemorates Tanzania’s Independence from the United Kingdom on 9 December 1961 which governed Tanzania since the late 19th century after the Treaty of Versailles. The 60th Tanzania Independence Day anniversary celebrations is being celebrated under the theme “Miaka 60 Ya Uhuru, Tanzania Imara, Kazi Iendelee”, loosely translated as “60 Years of Independence, stable Tanzania, Let Work Continue”.
The occasion was presided over by the College General Coordinator (G-Coord) Col Frederick ITANGAYENDA on behalf of the College Commandant Brig Gen Didas NDAHIRO. The G-Coord congratulated Tanzania for the 60 years of freedom, unity, stability, determination, discipline and development. He wished the senior officers and their compatriots a happy 60th Independence Day Anniversary celebrations.
