On Saturday 19 December 2015, the Rwanda Defense Force Command and Staff College (RDFCSC) Commandant, Maj Gen JB KAZURA presided over the closing ceremony of the Junior Command and Staff Course 06/15 on behalf of the CDS, RDF.

According to the college Chief Instructor, Col J MAJYAMBERE who started the ceremony with the course report, this course is the sixth of its kind and like other preceding courses it is aimed at equipping selected officers with the ability to perform staff duties on a day-to-day basis at all levels of command both in peacetime and in war. Essentially, the course prepares officers for Grade 3 staff appointments and after further experience, for Senior Command and Staff Course training. He informed the gathering, which included the graduates’ spouses and other invited guests, that course has been running for four months and the college was proud to announce that all the 36 officers who were selected to attend the course have successfully achieved the desired end state of the course.

The Commandant later on presented the certificates to the graduates and rewarded the first 3 best students of the course. In his speech, he extended his heartfelt congratulations to the graduates for successfully completing the demanding but important course.

The Commandant emphasized that their graduation is a significant milestone in their professional development and primary responsibility of directing other junior leaders and men towards achieving the goals set out by the senior leadership. He added that they should keep in mind that the degree of professional competency and film ethos they acquired should assist in grasping at their level the complexities that characterize the current national and international security environment. He also took the opportunity to thank the RDF leadership for their full support in the college quest to contribute towards RDF professionalism and the envisaged future transformation of the force in achieving their constitutional noble mission.
