Dr. Kaitesi is currently the Principal of the College of Arts and Social Sciences of the University of Rwanda.

She has been part of the NUR Law faculty since August 1999 to date. She also served as the Head of the Department of Public Law, and later, as the Deputy Dean for Post Graduate Programs and Research. She Coordinated the LL.M – Business Law Program of the National University of Rwanda from 2009 till her current position. She was a visiting lecturer at the Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD) at Nyanza where she taught Judges, Attorneys, and Prosecutors. Kaitesi has spoken at different conferences and was a guest speaker University of Leiden- the Netherlands (2009) and at the Minerva Centre for Human Rights, Hebrew University of Jerusalem (2010 & 2011). Kaitesi's PhD research focussed on “Genocidal Gender and Sexual Violence: The Legacy of the ICTR, Rwanda’s Ordinary and Gacaca Courts” at the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights. She holds a Master of Laws degree (LLM) from the University of Ottawa, Canada (awarded the Jacque Cadreau Memorial Prize for the best Human Rights Paper of the year 2000 by the University of Ottawa Human Rights and Research Center). Kaitesi is a graduate of the Faculty of the National University of Rwanda with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (with a distinction). She has published in the areas of criminal justice and gender. She has facilitated and executed various consultancies. She has served as a special consultant to the Beijing Secretariat, some civil society organizations, and UN Organizations like UNICEF, UNIFEM, and others mainly on gender, family, or child issues. Kaitesi is a practicing Advocate with the Kigali Bar Association and a member of the East African Law Society. She is a native speaker of Kinyarwanda and has excellent command of English and a working knowledge of French. She is a Senior Associate with the Fountain Advocates in Kigali.

Dr. Charity Charity WIBABARA is 30 years old and happily married with one son. She holds a PhD from the University of Western Cape and Humboldt University Berlin in Transnational Criminal Justice She obtained a Master’s Degree in Transnational Criminal Justice and Crime Prevention International and African Perspective, in December 2009 with 80% in research. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Law at the National University of Rwanda in 2007, with distinction. She has been a Legal Advisor in Rwanda Education Board Part-time lecturer at the University of Rwanda-CCM and Kigali Independent University, a Research Assistant at the University of Western Cape, and is currently a Senior Lecturer in CASS.

Alphonse Muleefu is a PhD Candidate at the International Victimology Institute Tilburg (INTERVICT) Tilburg University Netherlands, graduation is scheduled on November 24, 2014. He holds a Law degree (LLB) from the National University of Rwanda and an LLM in International and European Public Law (specialization:

International Law and Human Rights) from Tilburg University, Netherlands.

Mr Muleefu Alphose is a holder of certificates in International Criminal Law from Leiden University, Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies (The Hague, Netherlands), International Criminal Investigations from the Institute for International Criminal Investigations (IICI) (The Hague – Netherlands), and Transitional Justice from the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ), Francophone Fellowship Program (Rabat – Morocco). In 2004 and 2005, Mr. Muleefu worked as a Research Student and Legal Researcher at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), and from March to September 2006, he was a Legal Intern at the Victims Participation and Reparation Section (VPRS) of the International Criminal Court (ICC). In Rwanda, he worked as a Legal Officer in the National Service of Gacaca Courts and as a member of civil society. His research interest is in Gacaca Courts and Transitional Justice in general, International Criminal Law, Laws of War (International Humanitarian Law), and human rights (victims’ rights in particular). He has conducted studies for (Inter) national Organizations, UN Agencies, and Government Institutions. Alphonse Muleefu is fluent in English, French, Kinyarwanda, Swahili, Luganda, and many other East African languages and dialects.
