Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College Joined Ethiopia to celebrate her New Year of 2011
In line with College tradition, Staff and students joined Ethiopia, in the celebration of her New Year on 11 September, 2018. On this day, the College organized refreshment for the entire College fraternity to observe the New Year of Ethiopia.
During the refreshment, the Ethiopia national anthem was played
Lt Col GM GEBREMEDHIN allied student from Ethiopia paid solidarity message that “According to the Ethiopian calendar, the current year which begin on September 11, 2018 is 2011, AD of the Gregorian calendar. The Ethiopic or Ge’ez calendar is the principal calendar used in Ethiopia and also serves as the Church calendar for Christians in Eritrea and Ethiopia belonging to the Orthodox Tewahedo churches, Eastern Catholic Church and Lutheran Orthodox Church, but as a state, Ethiopia is the only state in the world that used this calendar.
The College Commandant Maj Gen JB Kazura, congratulated the Ethiopian senior officers currently at the College as students Lt Col GM GEBREMEDHIN and Maj TT WELDEYESSUS.
