Musanze on 25 October 2022

In line with College tradition, the College members and students joined allied countries of Botswana, Nigeria, Uganda and Zambia whose independence anniversaries were celebrated in September and October 2022 to mark the days. Botswana’s 56th was on 30 September 2022, Nigerian’s 62nd was on Sunday, 1 October 2022, Uganda’s 60th was on 9 October 2022 while Zambian’s 58th was on 25 October 2022 respectively. On each of the days, the College organized refreshment for the entire College fraternity to commemorate the days. During the refreshment, national anthems of the various countries were played. This was followed by solidarity messages from representatives of countries celebrating their independence (Maj Baengemali MAKGETHO from Botswana, Maj Mohammed Yusuf from Nigeria, Lt Col Suzan Oruni LAKOT from Uganda and Lt Col Tilt Hikasumpa from Zambia). The Deputy Commandant of the College, Col JC NGENDAHIMANA officiated the events.

While addressing College members and students during Independence celebrations, the Deputy Commandant emphasized on the collaboration and cooperation between the countries represented in the College and Rwanda. He congratulated the allied officers currently at the College: Directing Staff and students. “We are happy to join you on the memorable days when your countries are celebrating many years of independence”, the Dy Comdt noted. He concluded by wishing the allied officers in particular and other officers at the College in general, happy celebrations and many more anniversaries of the kind.
