GHANA INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

In line with The RDFCSC tradition, the College organized refreshments for the entire College fraternity to commemorate the 67th Independence Day of the Republic of Ghana respectively. The celebrations were attended by the Commandant of the college Brig Gen A NYAMVUMBA, a guest lecturer from the RNP Command & Staff College CP C BIZIMUNGU, the Deputy Commandant & Chief Instructor Brig Gen JC NGENDAHIMANA, Faculty members, students of SCSC 12, and College Staff.

In 1957, on this day, Ghana became the first African country in sub-Saharan Africa to officially become a free nation. Ghana was the first country in sub-Saharan Africa to become independent from European colonial rule. This day marks the declaration of Ghanaian independence from the British colonial rule. During the refreshment, the Ghana national anthem was played.
The directing staff who spoke on behalf of the Ghana fraternity at the college Wg Cdr Sulemana Amadu TIMBILLA, wished to thank the leadership of the RDF and the RDFCSC for the unique opportunity to celebrate the independence anniversary administration and the leadership of the Great Nation for making it possible for them to celebrate this day here in Nyakinama, Musanze. He assures that the Ghana Mil Advisory Trg Team (GMATT) will continue to adapt to the rapidly changing demands of this College to ensure that it remains competitive with other East African Communities and renowned Staff College in the continent and at the best stand out as a Centre of Excellence.
The Comdt, Brig Gen Andrew NYAMVUMBA assisted by Ghanaian Senior Officers in particular Col EM ALO, Wg Cdr Sulemana Amadu TIMBILLA, Cdr James AGRAH, Lt Col Kwesi Gyeke DANSO, and the visitor Wg Cdr OPOKU in cutting Ghana’s 67st Independence Anniversary Cake.
Col EM ALO the Head of Research and Development remarks by conveying the outmost and sincerest thanks on behalf of the Ghana Military Assistance Training Team (GMATT), to the leadership of the RDF and RDFCSC and indeed the whole College fraternity for the honor done to them on their national day. He also thanked the Commandant for supporting the event personally and for his continuous support of the GMATT in the discharge of the mandate and in the areas of administration.
The Comdt Brig Gen A NYAMVUMBA in his closing remarks for the ceremony is his singular honour today as we gather here on this auspicious occasion of Ghana’s Independence Day. He reflects on the journey that brought our fellow Ghanaians to this momentous day and the path that lies ahead. As we celebrate 67 years of independence; he pays tribute to the resilience and determination of the Ghanaian people. Through years of struggle and sacrifice, they have overcome formidable challenges and achieved remarkable progress in their quest for prosperity and social justice. As he commemorates this Independence Day of Ghana, he said let us renew our commitment to building nations that are prosperous, peaceful, and just. Let us stand together as one people, bound by our love for our nations and our determination to create a brighter future for generations to come.
