EAC Defence experts plan for a joint field training exercise
Defence experts from EAC countries have started from 23rd January at Kigali, a one-week meeting to plan for the coming field training exercise (FTX) due to take place in Rwanda around October this year.
The Kenyan Col Frank Nganga, chairman of the experts’ team, said that this exercise is a follow-up of the command post exercise held last year at Rwanda Military Academy Nyakinama. He said that the last exercise focused on the command aspect while this one will engage the real troops in the field.
He further explained that the present meeting will look at the broad spectrum of the planning aspect and will be followed by other meetings that will enter into details.
