Students of SCSC 07 conducted Command Post Exercise (CPX) nicknamed HOLD FAST. It was designed to practice students in setting up a Command Post (CP) and in the performance of Operational Staff Work (OSW). The exercise was a one-sided indoor battle and includes planning, preparation and delivery of orders, and exercise play phases.

Command Post Exercise (CPX) for Senior Command and Staff Course (SCSC) 07 conducted from 9 to 15 February 2019
Students of SCSC 07 conducted Command Post Exercise (CPX) nicknamed HOLD FAST. It was designed to practice students in setting up a Command Post (CP) and in the performance of Operational Staff Work (OSW). The exercise was a one-sided indoor battle and includes planning, preparation and delivery of orders, and exercise play phases.

The Exercise scenario involved two Brigade Groups (21 and 22) while 23 Brigade Group was notional and Offensive Support Group (OSG) fighting a Defensive Battle against an invading force.

The aim of Exercise HOLD FAST was to practice students in Operational Staff Work and battle procedures at Division and Bde levels. Team work and management of a time were crucial to achieving the Exercise Objectives.

The Exercise objectives were to practice students in the Battle procedures including: Organization of a Command Post, Production of operational staff products and the use of SOPs including Reports and Returns (R2).


Also demonstration of Media and public relations was played.
