Command Post Exercise 1 (CPX1) for JCSC 11 conducted from 7 to 12 September 2018
Students of JCSC 11 conducted Command Post Exercise 1 (CPX1) nicknamed HOT IRON. It was a 5 days tutorial exercise conducted from 7 to 12 September 2018, where students were appointed as Commanders and Staff Officers at Bde and Bn HQ levels. This exercise aimed to practice students of JCSC 11 on command, op staff work and staff functions in a Bde and Bn CP.


During the exercise, students were practiced as Bde and Bn Comds as well as Staff Officers in the respective fmns and Units.
It is a tutorial exercise but students were assessed on op staff work in a Command Post (CP) at Bde and Bn HQ levels.
At the end of exercise, the students were able to demonstrate a working knowledge to perfectly practice the following: Establish of CP to include: setting up of a CP, Organization of a CP and Presentation of sand model. Estimate and issue of OPOs, Admin Orders to include Log Plan, Issue of Comms Instrs, Fire Plan, and Manning of CP to include: Map marking, Voice Procedure, Logging and action on messages, Msg Writing, Issue of instant briefs as well as Operational returns, states and requests.
