RWANDA DEFENCE FORCE COMMAND AND STAFF COLLEGE OBSERVES THE REPUBLIC OF THE CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC’S INDEPENDENCE
On 13 August 2026, the Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College (RDFCSC) fraternity celebrated the Central African Republic’s 66th Independence Day. To commemorate the event, the College organized a reception for the entire fraternity. Students of the Senior Command and Staff Course (SCSC 15), along with faculty and staff, attended the celebration.
The College Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor (Dy Comdt & CI), Brig Gen JC NGENDAHIMANA, graced the occasion. He said:
“It is a great pleasure to join you in commemorating the 66th Independence Day of the Central African Republic. On 13 August 1960, the Central African Republic embarked on a new chapter as a sovereign nation, following the end of French colonial rule. 66 years later, this occasion provides an opportunity to reflect on the country’s journey, recognize the aspirations of its people, and celebrate their enduring attachment to national sovereignty, peace and progress. On behalf of the RDFCSC, I extend our warm congratulations to the Government and people of the Central African Republic on this important National occasion. We are particularly pleased to celebrate it together with Maj Yaonendji Alain GHEMUALD, who represents the Central African Republic on Senior Command and Staff Course 15.”
The Central African student Maj AG YAONENDJI, in his remarks, said:
“On this special occasion, I bring you the warm greetings of the people of my country and express my sincere gratitude to the Republic of Rwanda for its hospitality and its unwavering commitment to military professionalism, regional peace, and African solidarity.
Independence Day is much more than the anniversary of a nation’s freedom. It is a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by those who fought for liberty, dignity, and self-determination. It calls upon every generation to protect the values they inherited and to build a future worthy of those sacrifices.”
