JUNIOR COMMAND AND STAFF COURSE 25 VISIT TO 503 BDE HQ IN KINIGI

On Tuesday, 5 August 2025 from 0800 to 1300 Hours, the students of Junior Command and Staff Course 25 accompanied by the Deputy Commandant and CI, Brig General JC NGENDAHIMANA and the faculty members, visited 503 Brigade Headquarters in Kinigi, Musanze.

The visiting delegation was welcomed by Lt Col Schadrak Karamira representing 503 Brigade Commander, who briefed the delegation on Brigade tactical deployment in the field.

During the visit, the students viewed the layout and familiarized themselves with the responsibilities of various support elements of a Bde HQ. The Students further appreciated how the Combat Service Support (CSS) elements support a Bde in the field. 

The various briefings and demonstrations enabled students to fully appreciate the complexities of moving and deploying a formation HQ in the field and the functions of its component cells.

The purpose of the demonstration was to illustrate the layout, establishment of a Bde HQ in the field and the support provided by Combat Service Support units within the BAA. 

At the end of the visit, students clearly understood the following:

a.       Setting of Bde HQ in the field.

b.       Organization and layout of a Bde HQ in the field.

c.       Roles, responsibilities and functions of various cells within a Bde HQ.

d.       Deployment of various CSS elements within a BAA in spt of a Bde.

Students and faculty appreciated the efforts, commitment, and cooperation offered by the 503 Bde Comdr and his Staff towards the realization of the visit objectives.
