UGANDA’S INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

On 9th October 2023, the RDFCSC fraternity joined one Directing Staff (DS) and two students from the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Force (UPDF) to celebrate the Independence of the Republic of Uganda. The 3 senior officers, Lt Col Fred BAGUMA (DS), Lt Col Shem Kakuba NAKORA, and Maj Engr George OGWANG, are part of the exchange program between the two sister Armies.
The Independence Day commemorates Uganda’s Independence from the United Kingdom on 9th October 1962. The 61st Ugandan Independence Day anniversary celebration is being celebrated under the theme “Celebrating Our 61st Independence Day as We Secure Our Future Through National Mindset Change”.

The occasion was graced by the Deputy Commandant, Col Jean Chrysostome NGENDAHIMANA on behalf of the College Commandant Brig Gen Andrew NYAMVUMBA. The Deputy Commandant congratulated Ugandans for consolidating and defending their national independence and wished the senior officers a happy 61st Independence Day Anniversary celebration.
Both the DS and the student who spoke on behalf of the Ugandan fraternity at the college reiterated on cordial relationship between the two sister-countries and Defence Forces. They thanked the College leadership for organizing the event to celebrate the Ugandan independence.
